Everything Changes

The recent death of Apple Company's CEO, Steve Jobs put the world in a standstill. He was one of the brains behind a majority of the equipment and gadgets that we use today that makes communication more convenient. Personally, I have never owned an Apple product, I just think that all of these companies have one goal :

"To make communication easier, more convenient, and cheaper too"

With the continuous innovations regarding cellphones, computers, notebooks, tablets, and the world wide web, I can honestly say that these companies are doing their jobs. They have provided the public ways to have better and even faster communication with loved one who live far away. Even in a third-world country like the Philippines, majority of the people own cellphones, hence we are tagged as the "texting capital of the world", just for the price of 1 peso you can send a message to a person who is a hundred kilometers away from you. I wonder what would be the situation now if media and communication didn't evolve and didn't innovate ? We might still be writing letters and sending them to the post office, earliest reply you can get is at least 3 weeks.

It's not just about the evolution of media and communication it's evolution in a global scale.

This marks my last entry for a very productive semester in our Com11 class. Thank you to our awesome professor Sir Beaver ! Even his name sounds awesome too don't you agree ? He taught all of us these things that we had taken for granted before we had this class. He gave us the foundations that we must build in when we graduate and start working. Again, thank you to Sir Beaver, hope to see you around ! :)

5 komento:

  1. R.I.P. Steve Jobs :(

I can say that I agree with what you said that the companies have one goal and that is to improve communication. One goal it may seem but PROFIT and MONEY is still a big deal don't you think? As our means of communication improves, we also suffer for consequences. We are forced to spend money to avail of the innovations currently present in the market. Without money, we can't afford to get the services that we need.

Nice blog Rico! Good luck to us for our next semester! :)

  2. I was never a fan of Apple products --I always stayed loyal to Windows. :) Despite this, I do agree that Apple changed the technological world, without them introducing to the world new products, other companies wouldn't have made similar and cheaper products to compete with them and not giving countries like ours an opportunity to grow technologically. Bravo to them and the continuous technological evolution!

++ I agree, Sir Beaver was an awesome teacher!!

  3. My last post was also about how technology made communication better. Taking comm class made me realize one thing and that is technology is so essential and so awesome but we take it for granted. Reading your post made me think that if communication didn't due to technology..I would be writing this comment down on a piece of paper and I'd slap it on your face the next day :)
Technology is indeed a marvel of modern day and communication will forever be changed.

  4. Goodbye Steve Jobs, I was a patron of you very innovative Apple products. Though I stuck to the portable ones like iPods and iPhones.

Technology is wonderful. Imagine communication without the technology we have today. I bet communicating long distance would be very tedious. Technology has really come a long way with telegrams a long time ago becoming texting now. We should not take these for granted though and must be aware that advanced technology is not all that runs our lives.
